The Guardian Tree of the Human Heart

Named after the legendary heroic archer Arjuna in the Indian epic Mahabharata, the majestic Terminalia arjuna is a massive riverside tree whose thick pinkish-gray bark has formed the premier cardiotonic medicine of Ayurveda for over 2,500 years.


1. Cardiotonic Arjunolic Acid & Polyphenols

The bark is rich in pentacyclic triterpenes (Arjunolic Acid, Arjunic Acid) and oligomeric proanthocyanidins ($OPCs$):
