In 1543—the very same year Nicolaus Copernicus published On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres placing the Sun at the center of the universe—a 28-year-old Flemish physician named Andreas Vesalius (1514–1564) published De Humani Corporis Fabrica (On the Fabric of the Human Body) in Basel, Switzerland, igniting an equal revolution inside the human body.
